Comanche

Comanche

Originally owned by the Fisher family near Dalzell, SD., Comanche was purchased for the Madison bucking string in the early 30’s. He soon became a notorious bronc. Russ Madison issued a challenge to any cowboy would could ride him. A silver trophy was the prize. From 1936 to 1941 the challenge continued. After five years the trophy was awarded to Comanche, he was never ridden. He died in 1959 at the age of 33. The trophy is currently on display at the High Plains Western Heritage Centers rodeo room in Spearfish, SD.
